"It was an honour and privilege to share the stage with so many amazing business women from all over the World"

Here are some personal branding lessons to help you be a success...

Lesson From Lady Liberty

While in New York for the International Women In Business Awards we visited the iconic Statue Of Liberty and I noticed something about Lady Liberty that teaches us a lesson in personal branding.

As we walked from the ferry to the statue, I couldn’t help but notice something about her feet.

From the back of the statue you can clearly see her heel is slightly off the ground. She is not standing still. She is moving.

Not only is she shining a light, but she is taking it out to the World.

She is going forwards and stepping into the unknown, leading the way.

You have amazing gifts and talents that the World needs, so don’t be afraid to shine brightly, to step up and become a leader.

Yes, leaders do stand-out and become iconic, just like the Statue Of Liberty. They naturally attract people and they provide a guiding force to help others.

How can you shine your light and lead the way in your industry?
What small step can you be taking today, that helps you stand out?

Entrepreneur Of The Year - Lauren Clemett

I use to think awards were just an ego trip…

Until 2016 when I won an International Stevie Award (they are like the Oscars of business)...and saw what it could do for your self-belief and personal brand.

So I teamed up with awesome publicity specialist Annette Densham of Publicity Genie, who is also an international award winner and judge (and the person who had encouraged me to enter in the first place) and we held an Award-Winning Lunch in February 2017.

Over 100 people came!!!

So we held another one for those in a different part of the country and 50 more attended.

We did 2 more with over 150 attending!

We focused on what was important. Inspiring others, answering questions about awards, what stops people and outlining the process to make the most of awards and give yourself the best chance of winning.

Everyone had loads of questions. They were inspired to take action and to enter awards to profile and boost their businesses.
So Annette & I developed the Award Winning Accelerator with lots of insider tips, tutorials, tools and cheatsheets making it easier to enter, win and leverage awards.

Our focus was all about inspiring and lifting up others.

Part of the program was an exciting Award Winning Adventure, which included support and training to enter a specific awards program and go to collect them at the award gala event, leveraging the entire process to gain publicity for the business.

We ended up assisting over 30 entries and took a bunch of awesome business women to the International Women In Business Stevie Awards held in New York.

100% of these entries became finalists and at the event we collected over 27% of all the awards given out that night.

It was such a buzz to be part of the success of these awesome women. To see their self confidence grow and to watch them step into their brands and shine brightly on a Global stage.

Other attendees at the gala event approached us to share how much they enjoyed our positive enthusiasm. I even had one of the events team who was packing down the room afterwards tell me he was incredibly inspired by my acceptance speech.

I was personally awarded a Gold Stevie Award as Entrepreneur of The Year for the Advertising, Marketing and Publicity Category. I also brought home two silvers and two bronze awards.

Annette was stopped at customs because she was carrying so much ‘silverware’ back to Australia!

In 2018 the Award Winning Accelerator Program includes the Hong Kong Adventure for the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards in June and another Adventure to New York in November.

Putting yourself out there and entering awards, competing internationally with others in your field can be scary. But all it takes is having focus and making sure that focus is firmly locked onto helping others, not on yourself.

Focus stands for Follow One Course Until Successful.

What are you focusing on that you would be able to enter and win an award for?

The Niagara Effect

Over 2 million litres of water drop over the Niagara falls every second, it is one of the natural wonders of the World, drawing in 12 million tourists a year to view and experience this incredible sight.

Although we were only there for an overnight stay, we couldn’t help but watch them at every moment we got.

You can watch the water falls for ever, mesmerised by the flow of the river, dropping over 50 meters and even walk behind the falls, getting drenched by the spray.

At night they are lit by ever changing colours which are even more captivating.

We were fortunate to stay right on the falls and they were the last thing we saw at night and the first thing we wanted to look at the next morning!

We also journey behind the falls and were intrigued by the many stories about he falls, from the natural wonder to the hydropower and heroic rescues and daredevils who challenged the falls.

An now if anyone asks, we will definitely recommend visiting them.

To mesmerise means to enthral, dazzle or captivate and it is possible to do this with your personal brand.

Just like the Niagara Falls, you can create a brand that engages and captivates an audience.

Just like Niagara your brand can share a message of power and strength.

Just like Niagara, your brand can tell a story

Just like Niagara, you can have others recommending you.

Consider all the ways you can captivate and engage with your ideal clients and have them want to spend time with you.

Is Your Brand Monumental?

WashingtonDC is the home of so many iconic monuments to National leaders and there is a personal branding lesson there too.

The monuments to the likes of Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt and Martin Luther King Jr create an environment of awe.

These are leaders who stood for something. They weren’t always popular, they certainly weren’t perfect and made many mistakes.

But they changed the World around them, they took the lead and stuck to their beliefs and convictions.

They did things worthy of having a monument in their honour.

Are you playing small or are you thinking on a monumental level?

What can you do to ensure your belief and core message is broadcast strongly enough for others to notice and follow you.

How many lives do you wish to impact?

I felt dwarfed standing amongst the massive monuments in WashingtonDC but at the same time they inspired me to do more, be more and share more.

You do deserve to be well known, well paid and wanted, so it’s time you stared building your personal brand to be a monumental success.

Creating A Legacy

The East Coast of America is steeped in history and one city stands out as the place where it all started.

Boston.

This is where independence began, the Boston Tea Party, the signing of the Declaration of Independence and so much more including massive Irish immigration and a land of new hope.

Revolutions create heroes. One such hero in Boston is Paul Revere who manically rode to warn the army of the British advances.

Legacies are born of history, daring acts and the re-telling of stories down through the ages.

Those like John Hancock, who was first to sign the Declaration of Independence, with a large, flourished signature, even have their name as a legacy, used to coin a modern phrase “write your John Hancock there…”

Creating a personal branding legacy begins with deciding what is important to you and then standing up for that to inspire others to follow you.

A legacy means a gift, handed down through generations.

What gift are you giving to the World that others can pass on, well after you have gone?

What do you want to be remembered for?

Consider this as you build your brand and begin to impact others and leave a lasting impression.

You have the power to create, inspire and guide so start building your legacy today.

How to have 100% Success

Many suggest having goals is vital to success. SMART goals, things you san set and measure. Then you simply plan and work towards these goals until you have achieved them.

Yes, it definitely helps to have an idea of where you are going.

But how often have you set a goal and then life got in the way. Or your environment changed. Maybe your health deteriorated or a partnership dissolved.

There are all sorts of things that may get in the way of reaching your goals. One of which may well be that as you progress towards a goal you discover it’s not what you want.

Success is not something you aim for.

it is not a goal or measure, set somewhere in the future.

Success comes from inside you.

100% of successful people have certain traits that made it possible for them to get where they did, and many of those didn’t have a goal set, they just wanted to achieve something extraordinary.

Some of them succeeded at something they hadn’t even planned for. Like Teflon and Velcro that was created during the space race.

Many are afraid to succeed, because that will draw attention to yourself. The more well known you become, the more haters you get.

One of the most famous successful failures in the World had the most self confidence.

Thomas Edison said he hadn’t failed, he had just found 10,000 ways that wouldn’t work. He also said “If you want to succeed, get some enemies”.

There is nothing like a bunch of haters telling you it won’t work to drive you on to succeed.

Being successful despite what others think or say is the key.

Eleanor Roosevelt said “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent”

I agree with her and would add my own suggestion, that the only person you need to convince that you are good enough to succeed, is you.
